I'm Athanasius Wahbah — sometimes spelled Anthanasius Wahbah — a technology engineer based in Santa Monica, California. I build and operate the systems organizations run on — identity, cloud infrastructure, and internal platforms.
My career started hands-on, diagnosing and repairing hardware and software at high volume, and it taught me a discipline I've never let go of: understand the system completely before you touch it, and own the outcome once you do. Over the years that grew into running IT operations, then into engineering the platforms behind them.
Today my work centers on a few connected areas. On the identity side, I design and automate the full user lifecycle — joiner, mover, and leaver — across Microsoft Entra ID, SSO and SAML federation, and SCIM, so access is correct by default rather than by ticket. On the infrastructure side, I work across AWS and Google Cloud with Terraform and containerized workloads, including regulated, PCI-scoped environments. And throughout, I build internal tools and automation that replace commercial software we'd otherwise license, with measurable cost impact.
I also lead security operations and investigations when they're needed — incident response, forensics, and the controls that keep an organization out of trouble in the first place.
I'm a builder by instinct. If the right tool doesn't exist, I'd rather build it than buy it, and I do my best work upstream — designing cleanly and shipping something durable.
